Overview
CSIA hosts this course at their Plainfield facility, but the course itself and certification are NFIs. Contact their team with any questions regarding content, while CSIA can assist with registration and travel questions.
This 2-day course covers proper planning and installation techniques for gas hearth appliances. All major gas hearth appliances will be covered, including fireplaces, gas log sets, inserts, and freestanding stoves. We will also discuss venting methods such as conventional type B vent, direct vent, liner systems, and vent free.

A device for testing that meets the following criteria, per NFI:
Operating System:
Windows 10+ or macOS11 + (Big Sur)
Windows S mode is not supported.
Chromebooks, Linux, iPads, tablets, and mobile devices are not supported.

2 GB RAM
Intel Quad-core 1.8 GHz CPU or AMD Quad-core 2.0GHz CPU
Web Browser:
Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer 11+
Brave and Opera are not supported at this time.
Microsoft Edge is not supported on macOS at this time.
Web Cam & Microphone:
An external or internal web camera and microphone are required.
Camera and microphone drivers must have been updated or released within the past 5 years.
3D webcams are not supported at this time.

All CSIA learner personal and training records will be restricted from public access. CSIA will never share learner contact details with any third party. CSIA uses a standardized and centralized record management system for filing and storing personal and training information. All CSIA learners can obtain a copy of their learner records by logging into their ProLogin portal. Learners may also request a copy of their record by contacting the CSIA office at office@csia.org.
