Overview
This live, one-day review covers content in the Chimney and Venting Essentials Manual, assisting candidates in completing the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep® exam to become a CSIA Certified Sweep® (CCS®). Becoming a certified sweep demonstrates expertise and professionalism, giving you a competitive edge in the market.
Directly after the course, you will take the CCS® exam, though you can elect to take your exam up to one year later.

If you are testing virtually, your device must meet the following requirements:
Device Type: You must use a desktop computer, laptop, or Macbook. iPads, tablets, phones, and Chromebooks are not supported.
Webcam: A working webcam is required for the duration of the test.
Browser: Google Chrome is strongly recommended. The testing platform is not compatible with Microsoft Edge.
Monitors: Only one monitor may be used during the exam. Dual monitor setups are not permitted.
What you’ll need…
Part One: Chimney and Venting Essentials (CVE) and NFPA 211 exam; 100 multiple choice questions; 1 hour
Part Two: International Residential Code (IRC) exam; 30 multiple choice, open book questions, 1 hour and 30 minutes

If you are a U.S. veteran with benefits, you will need to pay a deposit to secure your spot covering meals, the CVE manual, and exam fees. If eligible, the class itself is covered by the G.I. Bill, which you can apply by entering the promo code GIVeteran at registration. Meals must be added separately from class registration as they are not reimbursable by the VA, while books and the exam fee may qualify for reimbursement using VA form 22-0803. All CSIA learner personal and training records will be restricted from public access. CSIA will never share learner contact details with any third party. CSIA uses a standardized and centralized record management system for filing and storing personal and training information. All CSIA learners can obtain a copy of their learner records by logging into their ProLogin portal. Learners may also request a copy of their record by contacting the CSIA office at office@csia.org.
