Working in the chimney and hearth industry, you will have to understand a wide range of skills to become a successful business. One of those skills is carpentry. CSIA is hosting a hands-on basic carpentry workshop where we will go through proper terminology, minor repairs on things like drywall, installing vinyl siding, or how to frame something properly such as factory built fireplaces or wall pass throughs. This can all be done by proper instruction and the use of correct tools.
This carpentry class will get you going in the right direction to add another skillset to your already versatile business.
CEUs awarded: 6-T, 2-C&S, 2-C&L, 1-B (12 CEUs total)
Installing factory-built chimneys is the norm in the chimney and hearth industry, but what isn’t done all the time is building a proper chase or cricket to house a chimney pipe. CSIA is now offering a hands-on chase and cricket class that will go over the proper techniques for building chases and why it is necessary. We will cover the benefits and deficiencies in chases, as well as how and when to build a cricket.
