Certification Exam: The Certified Dryer & Exhaust Technician Exam (CDET) certification exam by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) assesses a candidate's knowledge and proficiency in the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of residential and commercial clothes dryer vent systems, including safety standards, building codes, and the prevention of fire hazards associated with dryer vents.

Objectives: 
  • Understand the elements of a clothes dryer.

  • Practice health and safety procedures within the dryer venting industry.
  • Complete the CSIA Certified Dryer Exhaust Technician exam. ​
