Certified Chimney Sweep Review & Exams
This session is a review of the material to assist a candidate in passing the Certified Chimney Sweep exam. This review is not a substitute for advanced study of the material.
The exam is in two parts and administered online.  Order Study Materials
  • Part 1 is a 100 question, multiple-choice exam and timed at 1 hour. This exam covers the Chimney and Venting Essentials manual and the 2018 NFPA 211.
  • Part 2 is a 30 question, multiple-choice exam and timed at 1 ½ hours.  This is an open book exam using the 2018 IRC and you must have a copy with you to take the exam.

Chimney Science
During this one day course students learn to diagnose and resolve chimney performance problems related to modern building construction in a way that’s easy for both new and experienced chimney technicians to understand. Topics covered include solving air pressure problems, identifying the symptoms of indoor air pollutants, determining combustion air requirements for vented appliances and the use of diagnostic tools.

Chimney Documentation to Reduce Liability and Increase Profits
CSIA’s Chimney Documentation to Reduce Liability and Increase Profits is a fast-paced two-day program designed to enhance your inspection process. During this session, our instructors will concentrate on helping you build the narrative-style reports your customers prefer. The session will also teach you how to put the photos from the field into your professional narrative report. When you attend CSIA’s Chimney Documentation to Reduce Liability and Increase Profits, you’ll design at least three complete reports and have the opportunity to see many more.

2-Day Masonry
The Masonry Repair for Chimney Professionals is an intensive class combining a short period of classroom theory followed by hands-on projects relating to the theory lessons. The objective of this class is to teach students how to lay brick and be able to repair existing work.  This will be accomplished by providing ample opportunities for you to practice and to ask questions.

Basic Reline
In this half-day class, we will discuss why we reline chimneys and the signs that indicate that a reline is needed. We will cover the various math equations that we need to understand as well as the correct sizing for chimney liners. Planning and executing the liner installation and dealing effectively with some of the problems you might encounter are critical to maintaining profits when relining chimneys. Regardless if you have been relining for years or are new to the skill, there will be tips and ideas you can take home to improve your bottom line.
