The Chimney Safety Institute of America is proud to be the source of North America’s leading chimney and venting education for chimney sweeps, professionals in affiliated industries, and homeowners. CSIA has education ranging from a six-day in-person classroom/hands-on workshop environment for the National Chimney Sweep Training School, to online education that you can complete in 90 minutes at home after work. All of these courses have approved CSIA and NFI CEUs.

But we realize that it’s not always convenient to take time away from your business. That’s why we continue to focus on expanding our online educational options . eLearning courses are an affordable option to continue educating yourself and your company. These courses typically are approved for 1-2 CEUs each and should take 1-2 hours to complete. If you have multiple employees, you can use CSIA's Health and Safety Multi User courses to instruct your staff on important issues as a group. You can register online for individual and multi user eLearning courses.
National Chimney Sweep Training School
While most people test on the last day of NCSTS, you can also attend just to brush up on your chimney sweeping and inspection knowledge, as well as gain valuable CEUs.
In-Person Chimney Physics
Chimney Physics is a good option for you if you are interested in learning how to diagnose common homeowner complaints that your competition is likely to miss. Understanding the house as a system allows you to start asking the right questions with the first homeowner call.
Online Chimney Physics
Online Chimney Physics is a great option if you are unable to attend the 2-day Chimney Physics. This online course gives you a week to explore how the house as a system works.
In-Person Installing and Troubleshooting Gas Hearth Appliances
[Gas Specialist Certification Exam included with registration]
Not only do you learn the ins and outs of gas hearth appliances, you also test at the end of the week to become an NFI Certified Gas Specialist.
In-Person Inspection and Report Writing
The IRW is designed to enhance your inspection process. During this session, our instructors will concentrate on helping you create systems for doing inspections so all members of your company will be able to do the same level of inspections as you the owner would do.
In-Person Masonry Repair for Chimney Professionals
The Masonry Repair for Chimney Professionals is an intensive class combining a short period of classroom theory followed by hands-on projects relating to the theory lessons. In the lab there will be ample one-on-one time with the instructor to allow everyone to proceed as their progress allows. Work stations will be situated to allow all students to continually participate in all aspects of the hands-on lessons while in the lab.
Online Lining Masonry with Stainless Steel
This five-class self-paced online course covers chimney inspections, contracts and warranties, fireplace flue sizing, oil flue sizing, gas flue sizing, metal specifications, reasons to reline a chimney, the importance of a flue liner and why a chimney should be inspected as part of the lining/relining process.
